Abstract: The Bonrook Project, consisted of EL 31487 and EL 32147, reporting under GR621. It is located approximately 220 km south of Darwin, near the town of Pine Creek. Bonbrook lies within the Archaean to Paleoproterozoic Pine Creek Orogen (PCO), one of the major mineral provinces of Australia. Since the early 1870's, significant gold and base metals have been mined within the PCO, dominantly from quartz veins, lodes, sheeted veins, stockworks and saddle reefs, associated with contact metamorphosed metasediments adjacent to the granite plutons of the Cullen Supersuite. Within the exploration area, there are a number of small workings, including a gold occurrence at Copperfield South and Bonrook Prospect, as well as several unnamed copper workings and a barite working; all located within metamorphosed sediments of the Burrell Creek Formation. Exploration mainly focused on testing the potential for economic gold and base metal deposits within the project area.
