Anningie Project EL 32830 Final Report for Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations Program

Abstract

The Anningie Project is located at Barrow Creek in the Northern Territory approximately 250 km North of Alice Springs. The proposal was to drill three diamond drill holes, each 200m deep, inclined 60 degrees. The three holes were planned to intersect multiple pegmatite dykes with the aim of determining their economic potential, especially for lithium. The result was three drillholes (MPDD001, MPDD002 and MPDD003) which were drilled to the depths of 201.6m, 198.7m and 194.3m respectively. After a few days of logistics drilling commenced on the 11th of October 2023 and the third and last drillhole was completed on the 27th October 2023. Drill hole MPDD001 was designed to test a well-defined soil geochemical anomaly along the southeast trend from Core Lithium's tenement EL 26848, where 6 samples returned over 1% Li2O with a maximum of 4.78% Li2O, and spodumene occurring at the surface at what was historically known as the Anningie Tin Field. This drill hole intersected metamorphosed mafic rocks for the entirety of its depth with some calcsilicate alteration at the bottom of the hole. MPDD002 and MPDD003 were designed to test the geological zones immediately beneath previously discovered lithium-bearing pegmatite outcrops JC001 and MP10127 with 1.61% Li2O and 225 ppm Ta; and 1.15% Li2O & 223 ppm respectively. Multiple pegmatite dykes were intercepted in holes MPDD002 and MPDD003 with the mineralogy being dominated by quartz, feldspar, muscovite, epidote and tourmaline. All of the intersected pegmatites were sampled and analysed for a suite of elements including lithium and no economic values of lithium were discovered.
