Annual Report for ML 23283 Windy Hill Project for the period 10th June 2017 to 9th June 2018

Abstract

This report describes exploration work conducted on Mineral Lease (ML) 23283 (Windy Hill project) by Newmont Tanami Pty Ltd (Newmont) for the year ending 9th June 2018. The Granites Gold Mine is located 550km northwest of Alice Springs and the Windy Hill project is located 37km northeast of MLS 8, 'The Granites'. The Minotaur pit, located within ML 23283 produced 926,359t at 2.11g/t Au during August 2003 to February 2004 for 40,197ozs (end of June 2004). The most recent exploration drilling was completed on ML 23283 during 2011 and 2012. Work completed during the reporting period included an environmental monitoring program and reclamation and closure scoping study. The environmental monitoring program was comprised of pit lake water quality monitoring, weed monitoring and rehabilitation monitoring in historically mined impacted areas. A reclamation and closure study was initiated to identify potential environmental data gaps recommended to be addressed in order to inform effective and appropriate final, permanent closure of decommissioned mining facilities present within the Windy Hill project. Work contributing to reclamation and closure of these facilities and features is planned to increase from 2019.
