dc.description.abstract | EL 31563 is located 140 km south east of Darwin, 12 km west of the Hayes Creek township and 1.5 km west of the Mt Bonnie mine and is wholly owned by Rockwash Pty Ltd. This report covers exploration activities on this tenement during the first year of tenure. During the year no on ground exploration was completed however Rockwash continued its historical data review of its Pine Creek Alluvial project. Also, considerable effort was invested in finding the best analysis methods for the testing of alluvial costean samples (collected in 2019 from nearby tenements). The company endeavored to find a cost-effective method to analyse alluvial gold samples to remove coarse material and then test for the free gold component. Analysis has so far focused on the concentrates produced from the field unit. It was concluded that there was little gold expected to be within the gangue minerals of the concentrates and that fire assay of concentrates would be adequate for the estimation of gold within them. It was found that, due to the finer portions of gold, screen fire assay did not improve or help to ascertain the free gold component of the concentrate grades. Work is ongoing. EL 31563 has excellent alluvial gold exploration potential. The main target creeks are those creeks showing or sourcing areas of anomalous values in historical data. An initial reconnaissance programme is planned for June after the wet season to map palaeo alluvial depositional areas, followed by an auger programme to test depth of these areas. The best areas will then be be tested by a costean sampling programme where sufficiently sized samples can be collected and processed with a small portable gravity/centrifugal separation test unit. | - |
