ELs 31480, 28389, 28390, 29991, 29992, 29993 Nabarlek North Project Regional-scale geophysical acquisition

Abstract

The Nabarlek project comprises eight granted Exploration Licences (ELs), 31480, 27252, 27253, 28389, 28390, 29991, 29992 and 29993. The licences are held by Northern Prospector Pty Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of Alligator Energy Ltd. All licences have been long standing applications under Northern Prospector Pty Ltd and were granted on the 20th April 2021 for a period of 6 years expiring 19th April 2027. On the 27th August 2021 the licences were granted amalgamated reporting status under GR549. This Annual Report is in respect of the eight licences listed above which form group report GR549. The tenements are located in western Arnhem Land approximately 250 km east of Darwin and between 30-50 km northeast of Jabiru. The tenements are considered prospective for unconformity-style uranium deposits similar to Ranger, Jabiluka, Koongarra and Nabarlek. Geology within the tenements is broadly equivalent to known deposits in the Alligator Rivers Uranium Field and consists in part of equivalents of Lower Cahill Formation of the Pine Creek Orogen (PCO) overlain in places by the lower Kombolgie Sub-group Sandstone. The Project areas have been explored intermittently since 1970 though relatively limited due to shallow Cenozoic cover in the region. The U40 prospect represents the most proximal and notable discovery located 200m south of the licences. The Nabarlek mine is also located approximately 7km south of EL 31480 with similar geology throughout the Nabarlek North project. Historic works are documented within this report along with field work and studies conducted during the 2023 field season. On ground exploration works at the Nabarlek North project began in May 2023. During the 2023 field season, Alligator Energy and its contractors conducted a series of exploration work streams including the reprocessing of historical data, drilling (RC, Aircore and Auger), IP geophysical studies, stream sediment sampling and mapping. While laboratory results for the drilling work are still pending, indications suggest the work streams have increased the potential of the license package to host uranium mineralisation. With the completion of the 2023 work program, a better understanding of the underlying controls and tighter bedrock models are able to be generated - allowing for the planning of a more targeted exploration program in the south and helped to generate broad targets in the northern part of the license package.
