Title: | Seal capacity of sedimentary rocks from the McArthur and Birrindudu |
Report id: | CSR0596 |
Year: | 2023 |
Author: | Dewhurst, DN |
Corporate Author: | Geoscience Australia CSIRO |
Drillhole/Well Name: | 99VRNTGSDD1; WLMB001B; Lamont Pass 3; Broughton 1; Manbulloo S1 |
Abstract: | This report presents the results of mercury porosimetry analyses on ~10 mm diameter by ~ 10 mm length plugs taken from whole core samples in the Birrindudu and McArthur basins in the Northern Territory, from wells Manbulloo S1, Broughton 1, Lamont Pass 3, 99VRNTGSDD1 and WLMB001B. In the main, these samples all have very low porosity (measured by a standard gas porosimeter; see Esteban et al., in prep., companion petrophysics report) and relatively high bulk density. All samples were plugged parallel to the whole core axis which in most cases was close to normal to bedding. |
