Abstract

Following several years of stream sediment and soil sampling and of geophysical surveys, the 2017 exploration campaign has been focussed strongly on diamond drilling. The 2016-2017 reporting period saw the drilling of 23 diamond drill holes totalling 9271.3 m divided between the 2016 and 2017 drilling campaigns. This report presents the findings for 2016 holes NB16DD021 - NB16DD028 and 2017 holes NB17DD029 - NB17DD043. All holes were drilled in the Greater Rosie Creek area including the Rosie Creek and Mt Young prospects. These holes sought to intersect a pyritic shale envelope that was found within the Barney Creek Fm at Rosie Creek in 2016. The drilling was either inside of the interpreted Rosie Creek sub-basin or sought to test for extensions beyond the known occurrences. No geophysical surveys, soil sampling, stream sediment sampling or mapping were carried out in this reporting period. A rock chip sampling traverse was carried out at the undrilled Cow Lagoon prospect and a sample from historical hole DD01BAL02 was taken and sent for petrographic analysis. For the current reporting period, a total of $5,405,389 was spent on the North Batten JV Tenements. The proposed work program for the next reporting period includes further drilling in the Rosie Creek sub-basin and the Greater Rosie Creek area (including Mount Young) and drilling exploration holes at the Yalco and Nhumby Nhumby.
