dc.description.abstract | The Waite Creek Project, situated within URO's EL33202 tenement approximately 390 km northwest of Alice Springs, presents a significant opportunity for rare earth elements (REE) exploration. Located within the Ngalia Basin, an area historically known for uranium, vanadium, and base-metal exploration, the project area exhibits promising signs of REE mineralization sourced from nearby Southwark Granite Suite weathering. Previous exploratory efforts, including a 2007 airborne radiometric survey, identified thorium anomalies indicative of potential REE mineralisation. Despite initial exploration focusing on uranium, subsequent investigations highlighted the prospect's potential for REE extraction, particularly within regolith-clay hosted deposits. The utilization of pXRF analysis on 85 drillholes previously untested for REEs revealed significant total rare earth oxide (TREO) values, with some samples exceeding 500 ppm. Notably, samples exhibited substantial concentrations of neodymium and praseodymium, critical elements for green energy applications. Given the growing demand for REEs in the context of global green energy initiatives, the Waite Creek Project represents a pivotal opportunity for URO to contribute to the exploration and extraction of essential transition minerals. With the potential to redefine exploration paradigms in the field of REE extraction, the project holds promise for meeting the increasing demand for these vital commodities. | - |
