dc.description.abstract | Significant exploration was carried out on the tenements with the aim of locating or extending mineralisation. Detailed aeromagnetic/radiometric and gravity surveys were undertaken. Vacuum drilling was conducted on a regional scale for almost total coverage of the tenements, results were poor with some anomalism obtained to the west of the Rising Tide deposit. Costeaning at Howley Creek and Homeward Bound did intersect some minor mineralisation but did not increase the resource potential. RC drilling was completed at most of the prospects. At the Rising Tide drilling has indicated additional mineralisation especially the supergene zone and a new reserve is being calculated. At the Alligator, Burgan, Faded Lily and Zap Gap the southern dipping mineralisation was intersected, however the mineralised widths did decrease and the depth of the mineralisation is prohibitive for open pit development. At the other prospects, only low grade or narrow shoots were intersected downgrading the potential for extending brown mineralisation. The diamond drilling that was conducted was twining original RC holes for comparison of the mineralisation and to obtain accurate, specific gravity measurements of different lithologies for ore reserve calculation purposes. Brocks Creek mined 1.27 million tonnes of ore during the reporting period. | en_US |
