Annual and Final Report for Exploration License EL 23862 Tiwi Islands Northern Territory for period 31 March 2020 to 6 April 2021 and the life of the title

Abstract

This annual and final report covers EL 23862 for the period 31 March 20 to 6 April 2021 and the life of the title for which there is a due date of 4th of June 2021. In the reporting year, the holder of the tenement, Tiwi Resources Pty Ltd, with the support of the Tiwi Land Council, consulted with the Tiwi owners of the land within EL 23862. Several external parties presented proposals to the Tiwi landowners to investigate mining opportunities within the title area. The landowners decided that the potential impacts of the proposals would interfere with traditional land use and that the best option was to surrender the title. There was no on ground exploration activity for the reporting year. Extensive exploration work has been performed within EL 23862 in previous reporting periods with the target commodity being heavy mineral (HM) containing a suite of Zircon, rutile, leucoxene and ilmenite.
