dc.description.abstractNorthern Minerals completed a phase of reconnaissance work and surface geochemical (soil, rock chip and surface pXRF) exploration during the reporting period. This program was focused on gathering data along strike from previous known occurrences of xenotime HREE mineralisation. In addition to this on ground work, a desktop targeting study was undertaken along with the acquisition and merging of various spatial and geophysical data sets. A regional heritage survey was also conducted by the Central Land Council during the period of reporting. Numerous targets have been identified within the project area which are still to be ground checked. The pXRF and soil surveys show very little dispersion away from the outcropping mineralisation. Channel sampling over the xenotime mineralisation at the Boulder Ridge prospect was restricted by exposure of in-situ outcrop. The 2014-15 work program was focused on extending previous work undertaken at the Boulder Ridge prospect, where historic exploration identified xenotime HREE mineralisation similar to that seen at Northern Mineral's Browns Range project located 100km to the northwest in Western Australia. This work has extended Northern's understanding of the geochemical signature surrounding the prospect although further work including mapping, sampling and drill testing is still required. A planned regional on-ground reconnaissance program to assess targets generated from the targeting exercise was impacted by a heritage survey which excluded significant large areas from exploration, and was subsequently not undertaken.
