Amalgamated Group GR083 comprises titles MA 366, MA 455 and MA 456. MA 366 was recently added to the group on 1st June 2015. All titles in the group are situated in the north-east of the Northern Territory, 750 kilometres southeast of Darwin, approximately 100 kilometres south of the Gulf of Carpentaria and within the McArthur River Station pastoral lease. This group report summarises exploration activities on these tenements and their precursor tenements. Carpentaria Exploration Company (CEC) explored in the area currently covered by the three titles during the 1960s-70s under tenements MR 581 and EL 597. This region was subsequently held by CEC under a 'Reservation from Occupation' (RO 581) that was granted on January 14, 1977. AN 343, covering the HYC deposit to the north, was contiguous with Authorisation Northern 314 (AN 314) within RO581. In June 1992, AN 314 was replaced by AN 366. Applications for AN's 455-457, submitted by McArthur River Mining Pty Ltd in September 1996, were driven by statutory relinquishment requirements on AN 366, the departure of MIM Exploration from the Northern Territory and the perception that the ground should be held. These AN's were formerly granted on 21st August, 2006. In response to recommendations from the Department of Resources, grid shift reductions together with further statutory relinquishment requirements were carried out on AN 455 and AN 456 during 2010. Tenements AN 366, AN 455 and AN 456 were renamed MA 366, MA 455 and MA 456 in 2012. Assay results for soil samples collected on all three titles during 2014 have been received and processed. A total of 855 soil and 4 rock chip sample assays were received and added to the regional exploration database in addition to 18 standards and 39 duplicate samples. Results of the soil sampling programs at MA 455 and MA 456 were not encouraging, however the data further defined areas of low anomalism which may assist with future exploration planning. Results of the soil sampling at MA 366 were more encouraging, with some significant results confirming the highly anomalous data which is seen in the soils data collected in 1971. Consequently, a more targeted infill soil sampling program was completed on MA 366 towards the end of this reporting period, with assay results pending at the time of reporting. In addition, a soil sampling program was conducted over the southern half of the western-most blocks at MA 455, targeting areas where known areas of outcrop were recognised during field reconnaissance. Data from these sampling programs will be reported on in the forthcoming period. The compilation of historic exploration data is an ongoing exercise, and this reporting period has resulted in the discovery of large amounts of data, mainly at the Glencore archives in Mt Isa, which have not been available on site in previous years.
