McArthur Project Fourth Annual and Final Report EL 31045 - Nathan River for the period 29 September 2019 to 28 September 2020

Abstract

EL 31045 (Nathan River) formed part of the McArthur Project, owned and operated by Alta Zinc Limited (Alta Zinc) (formerly named Energia Minerals Limited) up to the Cessation Date. It is located some 100km WNW of Borroloola, Northern Territory, 100km NW of the McArthur River mining centre. The tenement was being explored for Base Metals. The tenement is predominantly underlain by Mesoproterozoic sediments of the Roper, Nathan, McArthur, and Tallawah groups of the McArthur Basin. Numerous base metal and barite occurrences are noted in the region. Since acquisition, Alta Zinc undertook a significant amount of work on developing an understanding of basin architecture, compiling open file data and interpreting geophysical datasets to investigate the potential of the McArthur Basin. During 2019-2020 no exploration work was undertaken on EL 31045. While further exploration works were warranted, the commencement of planned exploration strategies during the final period to cessation was delayed pending the resolution of heritage issues with the contiguous EL 25272 and EL 31046 tenements.
