Third Annual Report for the period 23 November 2012 to 22 November 2013 Victoria Highway EL 28026

Abstract

This Annual Report covers the period of tenure from 23rd November 2012 to the 22nd November 2013 on the subject licence held by Australian Minera Resources Pty Ltd (AMR) and operated by Eupene Exploration Enterprises Pty Ltd (EEE). The licence was originally granted to Imperial Granite and Minerals Pty Ltd (IGM) in November 2010 and was reported on by their consulting geologist Dr. Michael Green of Remote Area Geoscience. AMR purchased the licence from IGM in 2012. EL 28026 'Victoria Highway' is located approximately 100 km southwest of Katherine and approximately 320 km south southeast of Darwin. It covers the nexus of the Daly and Dunmarra Basins and the Kalkarinji Province, all of these being important geological provinces. Modern mineral exploration in the region commenced in the late 1960s and has continued to the present day. Commodities sought have included base metals (copper and lead-zinc-silver), diamonds, phosphate and uranium. The initial exploration model applied by IGM was to explore for base metal mineralisation within sedimentary units of the Kalkarinji flood basalt package. This model remains relevant however other geological environments within the licence should be considered as prospective for base metals. UTS Geophysics of Perth were commissioned to carry out an airborne magnetic-radiometric survey in the current reporting period. The survey was continuously postponed due to various contractor-related issues; it finally got under way in late November. Weather conditions in the licence area also created difficulties once the aircraft had commenced the survey. The data gathering phase of the survey is complete and the final report was still awaited at the time of writing.
