The Capstan and Suplejack Prospects are located within Prodigy Gold's 100% owned Tanami Project, located 400km NW of Alice Springs. Just 2% of the interpreted favourable stratigraphy outcrops. Almost each location of outcropping Mt Charles, Dead Bullock or Killi Killi Formation within the Tanami Region hosts a gold mine or advanced prospect. With a large search area with only limited testing by modern exploration techniques, Prodigy is looking to utilise geophysical methods to help narrow the search space. The NTGS-Prodigy collaborative geophysics program succeeded in trialing two ground gravity surveys at the Capstan and Suplejack Prospects to image the stratigraphic sequence. A total of 1,383 station points were completed at Capstan and 852 at Suplejack on a 250m x 50m spaced grid. The surveys successfully imaged both the Tanami Group lithologies and the overlying cover sequence. The data collected is comparable to that of the quality of magnetic data. In magnetically quiet areas, it has been possible to image additional stratigraphic units. At Suplejack, the method has been able to image the controlling Au-bearing structures that only occur as subtle features in the magnetics. The high quality data is in the process of being integrated with the magnetic data to enable magnetic-gravity inversions to be undertaken. The trial surveys show that ground gravity is a valuable method that should be used in conjunction with magnetic data to assist with targeting gold deposits.-
