During the reporting period 14 April 2012 to 13 April 2013 a study was undertaken by JLC Exploration Services to identify the contextual setting of the Mount Wells tin deposit. In particular the distribution of granite both at surface and concealed, possible related alteration signatures and its relationship to the Mount Wells tin-tungsten and copper mineralisation have been examined both near mine on the MLN's and over EL 22301. This has been achieved by studying detailed aeromagnetic (TMI and VD) images, NTGS Pine Creek geological mapping, mineral prospect summaries and geochemical data from previous exploration efforts. The study has been further complemented by acquiring and investigating GA AEM NT flight line stack map of inversion profiles for the Pine Creek 250,000 area. Similarly universal large scale NTGS Landsat (3), DTM, relief, and depth to magnetic basement images have also been investigated. In assessing the Mt Wells mineralisation from an exploration perspective air photo-mapping of workings and geo-structural trends complimented by overlays of historic information, drilling and sampling data have been used. As a resulting recommendation of the above mentioned study, field effective geochemical sampling for cassiterite and mineral associations was carried out. This required an investigation into identification of pathfinder chemical signatures. The drilling data at Mt Wells Mine has confirmed that potassic and siliceous alteration are present but these elements are not diagnostic. Hence second order associations such as copper-lead zinc and perhaps arsenic if there is weak gold mineralisation in the vein system are potentially useful. Utilising the Field Portable X-ray Fluorescence Niton analyser OUM continued to conduct indicative preliminary soil geochemical analyses (346 readings) in areas determined to host possible further mineralisation structures proximal to Cullen Granite Super Suite, to assist in identifying alteration features. Rock Chip sampling and a review of the historic core in the NTGS core library was also undertaken to acquire further data.en_US
