Abstract: | The tenement group is in the Tennant Creek Mineral field and is prospective for epigenetic structurally controlled ironstone related gold copper mineralisation. TRM continued to explore for gold and copper within the Ewan Edward Project Group of Tenements. During the 2012 dry season Truscott carried out mapping work. The main goals of the mapping were to locate ironstone outcrops and further develop the understanding of local ironstone structure and to map regional structure with particular attention paid to the ground expression of the 297 and 83 shear zones that occur both locally and regionally and are visible on geophysics maps. Exploration activities undertaken during 2012 - 2013 continued to highlight the potential for the area to host significant ore grade gold and copper mineralisation. The Ewan Edward tenements are very large in size so it was not possible to comprehensively map the whole area. Work in the 2013 dry season will continue to focus on combining geological field mapping with existing geophysical mapping to refine the structural model of the area. |
