dc.description.abstractThis report details the exploration activities carried out at the Pretoria Project, comprising EL's 31459 - 31466 and EL 31496, during the period 10th August 2017 to 31st August 2018. The project has group reporting number 464. The Pretoria Project is located 600 km south of Darwin and surrounds the township of Daly waters. The nine exploration licences covered a combined area of 7,042.8 km2. The area was applied for due to the presence of a distinctively high potassium (K) radiometric signature which coincides with a claypan. It was thought that ground water beneath the claypan and surrounding area may be enriched in potassium, lithium and boron salts. The project area covers a part of the sedimentary Beetaloo sub-basin in the Phanerozoic Carpentaria Basin which is interpreted to overlie older rocks of the greater MacArthur Basin. Exploration completed included a review of previous exploration, a soil sampling program (13 samples), a water sampling program (7 samples), geological reconnaissance and a ground radiometric survey (50 sites) using a scintillometer. The exploration results received for potassium were not considered encouraging enough to continue exploration and the project was surrendered. Please note that a change in management and staff at the company in mid-2017 has meant that the geologists who undertook the project generation, planning and field work were not available to provide certain information which would normally be included in a project report such as this.en_US
