Soil Gas Alkane Survey EP2, Pedirka Basin, NT

Abstract

This survey was designed to define the areal extent of the anomalous zones identified in the Mooney grid area as well as to conduct reconnaissance work in the north-east of the permit. The reconnaissance scale survey over three lines in the eastern and southeastern sections of EP2 defined the presence of three clusters or zones of soil gas samples containing anomalous concentrations of light alkane gases. Two of these zones contain hydrocarbon concentrations well above lower threshold levels (Zones A and B), and are coincident with anomalous regions defined in previous surveys.
