L 25553 is located about 165 km SE of Darwin and approximately 50 km NW of Pine Creek. EL 25553 was granted to Element 92 Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thundelarra Exploration Limited, on 26 July 2007 for a period of six years, and will expire on 25 July 2013. The tenement has 2 blocks which covers approximately 6.7 km2. The project area is located in the central part of the Pine Creek Orogen and covers an area of tightly folded meta-sedimentary rocks assigned to the Gerowie Tuff and Mt Bonnie Formations of the South Alligator Group and the Burrell Creek Formation of the Finniss River Group. The Gerowie Tuff is the oldest unit within the sequence and is exposed in the SE corner of EL 25553. It comprises siltstone, phyllite and tuff. Tuff constitutes about 25% of the formation and contains of varying amounts of angular crystal fragments of quartz and K-feldspar. The Mt Bonnie Formation constitutes a sequence of interbedded slate, mudstone, phyllite, siltstone (carbonaceous) and feldspathic grewacke. The Burrell Creek Formation, the youngest unit crops out mainly in the central part of EL 25553. It comprises interbedded shale, slate, phyllite, siltstone, sandy siltstone, greywacke and rare volcanolithic conglomerate. During the year under review, exploration campaign to define and extend uranium mineralisation at Bella Rose continued. Main highlights of exploration activity have been specialised geological mapping by consultant geologist, drilling and assaying of drill chip samples. Overall results are mixed but never the less at Bella Rose area of uranium mineralisation has been delineated, which can compliment resource at Thunderball uranium deposit. Nine RC holes were drilled to follow up on uranium mineralisation along strike direction, intersected during 2009-10 drilling campaign. Total metrage achieved during drilling was 1634 m and all holes were geologically logged, whereas some drill holes were also been gamma lodged. A total of 132 chip samples were retrieved and assayed for uranium, gold and suites of other elements of interest. In the next reporting period, geophysical and drilling data will be evaluated and new targets will be generated. These targets will be tested by RC/diamond drilling. Samples retrieved will be assayed for a suite of elements including uranium and gold. Efforts are also ongoing to build digital data base for all data which are generated during exploration programs.en_US
