The Lake Woods project, of which EL 25631 has been an integral part, is located 700 km south of Darwin and 200 km north of Tennant Creek. The project area, which consisted of five exploration licences, is centred on the Ashburton Range which runs approximately north-south along the eastern margin of Lake Woods, a large seasonal lake. EL 25631 was granted to Crossland Diamonds Pty Ltd on 10 August 2007 and surrendered on the 23 August 2010. Crossland Uranium Mines Limited have been the project operator. All ground within this tenement will be retained by Crossland's applications for SELs 28198 and 28199. Therefore this report will remain on closed file. The regional geology consists of the Middle Proterozoic Renner Group with the youngest member, the Lake Woods Beds, outcropping over much of the area investigated to date. The lower parts of the Lake Woods stratigraphy is intruded by an extensive sill of what was originally termed a dolerite'. To the east and west of the range, Cambrian and Cretaceous cover rocks form extensive tracts of flat open country.
