Abstract: EL 27369 lies 100 km north-east of Alice Springs, and encompasses a portion of the Hale River east of Claraville homestead. A literature review and magnetic interpretation of the area suggested an unusual linear zone of depressed magnetics abutted the Hale River. It was thought this depression may relate to a shear zone that was able to destroy much of the magnetite in the host rock. This would be an unusual occurrence in the area, and is worthy of greater inspection. A later inspection of the outcrops, showed no significant alteration or mineralisation. No samples are taken, as the authors were confident the observed rocks were barren. Future work will examine potential extensions of the Arltunga gold mineralisation into the western portion of EL 27369.
