Exploration drilling within EL 25593 identified the existence of a fine to medium grained igneous rock overlying a massive quartzite unit. The igneous unit, interpreted to be the volcanic lithofacies of the Cambrian aged Helen Springs Volcanics, is between 30 and 40 metres in thickness while the quartz rich sediments are significantly thicker. The sandstone unit is interpreted to be the Muckaty Sandstone Member of the Helen Springs Volcanics however the literature describes the unit as being less than 20 metres thick. A significant geological break occurs in the northern part of the tenement with dolomite being the most dominant lithology down-hole. This unit is in contrast with the sandstone and igneous rocks observed in the other holes drilled during the year and the relationship between the packages is uncertain. No manganese was intersected during the drilling. An aeromagnetic survey was flown in September/October 2009 and the data clearly shows the areal distribution of the volcanic units within the tenement.en_US
