Mataranka Lime Claims Exploration report MCN 674, 675, 684, 685, 20 November 2008 to 19 November 2009, MCN 2548 to 2553 and 2574, 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009

Abstract

Northern Cement Ltd - Northern Cement Limited (hereinafter referred to as Northern Cement) operates a limestone crushing facility at Elsey Station, 30 kms from Mataranka Town. Mineral Claims N674, 675, 684, 685, 2548 to 2553 and 2574 are used for mining purposes only, and as such, no exploration work has been carried out on these claims during this period. All the tenements were purchased by Northern Cement Ltd from Blake Investments in March 1990 to supply limestone for the quicklime kilns at Mataranka. MCN 675, 684 and 2553 - During the 2009 reporting year, there were no quarrying activities within these Mineral Claims. These tenements are adjoining Mineral Claims located on the Mataranka Homestead road near the town of Mataranka. These tenements are held as future limestone reserves in case of major road flooding which sometimes occurs between the Lime plant and the other operational tenements to the east on Elsey Station. MCN 674, 685, 2548 - 2552, 2574 - During the 2009 reporting year, there were quarrying activities within these Mineral Claims. These tenements are part of 8 adjoining Mineral Claims located on the Elsey Station access road, 30kms east of Mataranka. These tenements are held as future limestone reserves for the lime manufacturing operations at Mataranka. A total of 60,000 tonnes of limestone was removed from the pit during 2009. Geology of the area - All tenements are on the Eastern edge of the Daly Basin and contain predominantly Tinall Limestone of middle Cambrian age.
