Exploration activities for the reporting period included; analysing two historical drillholes using the CSIRO Hylogger, a multi-element MMI soil survey and diamond drilling. The approaching 'wet-season' caused a rapid deterioration in the weather conditions in the Pine Creek region at an earlier time than expected; the 2011 exploration programme was prematurely terminated but it was felt that the design objectives had been met. Visual inspection of the drill core indicates the St George drilling intersected the marker and target formations at a higher elevation than the older angled discovery hole (FEND 18) and is consistent with fold limbs, which appear to increase in thickness towards the gold hinge, being an important local control on gold mineralisation. The drill core is currently being processed and will be transported to Darwin to be analysed in using the CSIRO HyLogger - a hyperspectral logging unit. The CSIRO have developed this industry-leading technology that used various bands in the light spectrum to identify various minerals to a scale and detail not possible with the human eye. It assists in focusing exploration to the centre of any gold system where the highest grades are expected. Core will then be shipped to St George?s industrial facility in Perth for logging of the orientated structures, cutting and core sampling.en_US
