Abstract: | The field season commenced in May 2009 commensurate with cooler desert weather. The EL owner and his wife rented a house in Alice Springs and carried out a series of campaigns to the EL up until July where a temporary fly camp for the duration of the field season was set up on the waste rock dump opposite an adit-see. This was more economical than attempting to establish a water supply and more comfortable dwelling on the EL and living on site. The physical work of sampling was demanding and time out was necessary between sampling campaigns, including time needed to process selected samples back in Alice Springs. Detailed sampling commenced in the adit over the May-June-July period and new perspectives were gained on the geology and nature of copper mineralisation. The Expenditure covenant of $4800 exceeded. The focus of 2009 exploration was sampling of seams of azurite mineralisation in a 42 metre long adit ie the focus of the application for the EL was on a small scale exploration program to evaluate the potential mineral specimen value of the azurite mineralisation. There was no surface disturbance of the land by exploration in 2009 as the old open cut in front of the adit showed that copper mineralisation was tied to a kaolinite lense contained within sandstone and that any economic mineral specimen exploration needed to be aimed well out of weathered regolith ie within the adit. |
