Title: EL 23993 Abner Extended McArthur River Region NT annual report on exploration activities year four of tenure period ending 6 May 2008
Title Holder / Company: Gravity Diamonds
Report id: CR2008-0207
Tenure: EL23993
Year: 2008
Abstract: During the initial years of tenure historic exploration data has been reviewed, Falcon- airborne data was acquired over approximately 52 square kilometres of the EL 23993 on 100m spaced, north south oriented flight lines, flown at a mean terrain clearance of 80m. Gravity gradiometer, magnetics, and laser scanner data were gathered and compiled. Interpretation identified a number of targets that required follow up field assessment with heavy mineral samples geochemical samples were collected. New detailed aerial photography of EL 23993 was commissioned at 1:25000 scale and a detailed helicopter-borne HoistEM survey was commissioned covering an additional 68 km2 within the tenement at a line spacing of 80 metres (~850 line kilometres). Further indicator mineral samples (gravel, loams and geochemical samples) were collected. Track work was also undertaken to enable the passage of drillrigs from the Abner Range Plateau to the 'North Valley'. Further helicopter assisted sampling and target testing within EL 23993 was carried out during 2007, predominantly following up targets generated from re-assessment of the airborne EM survey and within the southern portions of the licence. A total of 14 additional large volume gravel samples were collected. At the conclusion of year 4 of tenure, a further 21 blocks were relinquished from EL 23993 with an application for partial waiver was lodged with DPIFM with respect to the further blocks required for statutory surrender.
