Title: | Helen Springs Bootu Creek Project 5th annual exploration report for EL23495 7th Nov 2006 to 6th Nov 2007 |
Title Holder / Company: | OM Manganese |

Abstract: | Exploration activity undertaken by Neil Scriven included the excavation, mapping and sampling of 2 costeans. Costeans 'A' and 'C' intersected manganese mineralisation though transported cover and strong weathering limited the information available for orientation of the mineralisation. Costean 'B' failed to intersect manganese mineralisation and was back filled. Assay results from wall sampling of Costean 'A' (northern) were very encouraging with 15m at 24.9% Mn. The mineralisation appears to be relatively flat lying. Assay results from wall sampling of Costean 'C' were moderately encouraging with 3m at 22.4% Mn and 3m at 21.9% Mn in the north and south walls respectively. Exploration activity undertaken by OMM during the reporting period included: - geological review, interpretation and report, - satellite borne ASTER spectral study and field work, - preparation for helicopter-borne SkyTEM survey in Nov/Dec 2007. Planned drilling activity was postponed pending interpretation and modelling of the SkyTEM survey. |
