Abstract: During the 2008 reporting year there were no exploration or quarrying activities within MCN 685 however the limestone crushing plant is situated in the SW corner of this tenement. This tenement is one of 7 adjoining Mineral claims located close to the Roper Highway, approximately 28 kilometres from the town of Mataranka. Some 55,000 tones of undersize material from the crushing operation was returned to the quarried out areas of MCN 685 as backfill to progressively rehabilitate the area reducing the pit footprint by I hectare. Flooding of the pit within MCN 685 occurred during April 2008 and water was pumped clear of the pit to an adjoining tenement to evaporate. This was necessary as the haul roads to access the adjoining tenement is within the pit area of MCN 685. Other activities were the maintenance of roads and the removal of weeds and removal of 20000 tonnes of waste material from the above ground scalps stockpile for use in local Aboriginal community works projects
