A program of auger geochemical sampling was completed over an area of previous elevated soil geochemistry and rock chip samples. Previous rock chip sampling returned up to 29.71ppm Au from a small northwest striking quartz vein centrally located within the tenement area. Other sample results from the same area include 13.07ppm Au, 3.42ppm Au and 1.09ppm Au. Associated elevated elements include bismuth to 723ppm, lead to 7492ppm, copper to 2402ppm and silver to 14.7ppm. The gold mineralised quartz vein is narrow (30cm width) with a flat dip to the southwest and hosted in strongly sheared granite and chlorite-sericite-quartz phyllite. The discovery outcrop lies within a broad northwest trending gold in soil BLEG anomaly (peak value 13.9ppb Au). The soil anomaly (+700m in strike) is considered open to the northwest due to increasing depth of eolian cover. A total of 106 geochemical samples were collected from approximately 1m below the natural surface using a hand held motorised auger drill and on grid spacing of 100m x 50m. The aim of the program was to define a more coherent and consistent geochemical anomaly within the target area based on which a future drilling program could be undertaken. Generally the results were disappointing and it is believed no suitable drill target was identified.en_US
