Abstract: | Two short trips were required for the ground work carried out for this report. All of the metal detecting was done by our visitor, who is an experienced operator of metal detectors, and it was done selectively on all outcropping quartz within a zone up to one kilometre south of the main camp along the flat land and natural gully contours. This endeavor led to the location of one promising quartz reef mixed with iron oxide and likely sulphidic mineralisation which we took from it sample 014 and its location is (81, 650E - 86, 100N). David Langley our partner and a highly experienced local prospector took two samples from two of the creeks with small water pools in them and panned them on location for coarse gold, none was found in either panned sample. Seventeen samples were taken for geochemical analysis during this trip plus the additional two samples panned for coarse gold. ALS has advised that test results will be available towards the end of September beginning of October. The results will be included as an appendix in our third year report. Twelve samples were taken during the second trip. All 29 samples were sent to ALS Laboratories. A copy of the submittal forms to ALS is provided with this report. Only two samples 004 and 005 were tested specifically for metallic iron content, because they appear to contain 50% Fe or more. |
