Two exploration licences, Exploration Licence Numbers 25084 and 25085, covering an area of 2.174 square kilometres in the Northern Territory are currentlv held by Daylight Jack Mineral Exploration Pty Ltd. These two contiguous and adjacent exploration tenements located in.the north-western part of the Northern Territory, are adjacent to the West Australian border. Since granting of the Exploration Licences, a review of previous exploration activities in the area was conducted. A consultant geophysicist, Grant Boxer reviewed the geophysical data. Geophysical data, geological data and stream-sediment sampling data have been processed and assessed. The data records the finding of micro-diamonds during previous stream-sediment, heavy mineral and loaming sampling programs that were conducted. within areas now under Exploration Licences 25084 and 25085. It is recommended that Daylight Jack follow-up the previous micro-diamond finds as to date the source of the micro-diamonds is still uncertain. especially some 10 separate samples over a distance of 45 kilometres has been recorded in the southern part of the tenements. Preliminary work using the aeromagnetic data suggests that the source of the micro-diamonds may be closely associated with magnetic anomalies. Areas of low magnetic susceptibility do not appear to produce micro-diamonds. The focus therefore is to concentrate on the magnetic anomalies, firstly in the region of Maude Creek which has been adequately sampled, and contains numerous micro-diamonds finds. Secondly, to investigate other parts of the tenements which are covered by surficial cover but contains magnetic anomalies, such as in the northern part of EL 25084. It is recommended that the Maude Creek area be the first priority area for further work' The Maude Creek area is to be subjected to geological mapping, stream-sediment sampling for micro-diamonds and indicator minerals. taking samples particularly of gravel beds which should contain coarser -grained sediments: in Maude Creek itself, and where warranted to drill on the main magnetic anomalies. The drilling targets are to be close to the previous micro-diamond finds, guided by the recently acquired magnetic data- and the stream-sediment sampling results, the drill holes are to be to reasonable depths for targeting kimberlites.en_US
