Annual report on Authority 24268 for the period 29th April 2006 to 28th April 2007

Abstract

Work undertaken for the year ending 29 April 2007 within A24268 targeted two commodities: alluvial and hard rock gold by Woodleigh Nominees, and iron ore by Territory Resources under agreement with Woodleigh Nominees. Drilling by Woodleigh was originally planned for two possible hard rock sites (between MLN 770 and MCN1646). However, this work was postponed indefinitely due to a lack of available drilling equipment and geologists. Exploration work was completed by Woodleigh within the Frances Creek Gold Mine tenements comprised a re-assessment of past exploration data and field assessments of these results. The valley floor adjacent to the Frances Creek Gold Mine indicated an average grade in the order of 0.5gms/cubic metre. The work to date has not given any indications of the extent of the alluvium beyond a depth of approximately 750mm below the level of the creek bed near the old airstrip. Work undertaken by Territory Resources comprised geological reconnaissance traversing over the iron ore prospective Wildman Siltstone located along strike from ironstone outcrops southeast of both the Ochre Hill deposit in EL9999 and southeast of Saddles Extended deposits in EL22856. No ironstone occurrences were found south east of Ochre Hill in A24268 whilst a small ironstone outcrop was located on the southeast extension of the western limb of an ironstone mineralised anticline at Saddles East.
