Annual report for EL 24539 - 2006

Abstract

The project is focused on the search for base metals, particularly lead/zinc and gold targets. Geophysical processing, imaging and limited interpretation was carried out on the available Northern Territory Government Mary River 2000 aeromagnetic survey, and Geoscience Australia 'Australian National Gravity Database 2002'. EL 24539 sits on the margin of the Allamber Springs Granite delineated by enhanced magnetics. Work carried out on geophysical data to date was limited by the sparseness of available data sets, nevertheless useful geophysical delineations were made. A magnetic high coincident with the mapped Koolpin Formation and at the granite margin was identified. As a consequence more detailed ground magnetic and gravity surveys have been recommended for future work, including Geophysical modelling. These will in part be assisted by a Geochemical program scheduled to be carried out in year 2. This program will assist in pinpointing areas of most interest for exploration drilling. Work was initiated with the available gravity and radiometrics data sets and continues. An extensive base metals industry report was carried out by the author. The indication is a strong base metals industry for years to come and offers great motivation for this and similar projects.
