Abstract: This report contains results from a scratch testing program performed on intact core from 4 wells, and also triaxial rock mechanical tests from 12 specimens. Scratch testing provides a continuous measurement of the unconfined compressive strength of the core, which is important for both fraccability of rock and also issues related to wellbore stability during drilling operations. Triaxial tests provide information primarily relating to the elastic properties of the rock such as Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio.
