A total of 14 Mt Charlotte 1 drill core samples were analysed, to determine their lipid biomarker composition. All samples analysed appear to have been derived from the early Neoproterozoic (mostly Bitter Springs Formation) or the early Cambrian (mostly Chandler Formation). The aim of this work was to investigate the microbial diversity of the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian interval using lipid biomarkers as a proxy.en_US
