Abstract: | The Early Permian sandstones are tight in all wells investigated. Late Permian sandstones can provide porous-permeable reservoirs in the southern part of the basin. Jurassic and Triassic age sandstones with very good depositional characteristics retains a moderately good porosity and permeability down to a depth of 3600m. Burial diagenesis has negligible effect on Late Cretaceous and Tertiary sands. In order to evaluate the diagenesis trends of potentail sandstone reservoirs of the Bonaparte Basin a pilot study of samples from 13 wells has been carrier out. The results of this investigation are presented in this report. |
