Third annual and final technical report for EL 29827 SXB Project, 30 August 2015 to 27 October 2016

Abstract

EL 29827 is part of Davenport's Southern Cross Bore Project (SXB). Located about 75 kms northeast of Alice Springs is bisected by a north trending zone of intense tectonism called the Wollanga Lineament, copper mineralisation is evident in the area to the north west and is hosted in quartz veins, the Johnnies Reward IOCG prospect further west. Local geology is dominated by protolithic carbonate in the east (mostly EL 29827) which transitions abruptly to a pelitepsammite-acid volcanic sequence in the west assigned to the 1810 - 1800Ma Cadney metamorphics, Aileron Province, Strangways Metamorphic Complex, southeast Arunta Inlier. During the tenure of EL 29827 exploration undertaken on the project area was initially desktop studies and a review of past data, including use of the regional magnetics and gravity surveys. Two days were spent on site and several reconnaissance traverses were completed, including visiting the Queen of Sheba historical workings. Due to a lack of funding and a management change resulting in the loss of data compiled during the first 2 years of tenure, Davenport made and decision to concentrate future exploration on adjoining SXB licences EL's 28045 and 30090. Consequently the licence was relinquished without further work during the past year of tenure.
