Abstract: | Over the years, Casey Magie has located two gold-bearing reefs. The first is 10 m below the surface and extends for at least 200 m southeasterly where it appears to join a larger known reef. He estimates that the former reef averages 8 grams to the ton gold. The second reef is located further south and is approximately 600 m long and 10 m below the surface. Mr Magie credits the rediscovery of these reefs to pursuing an idea originally from the then Government Geologist, Mr Mark Palmer. Mr Magie was able to relocate the top in the reef by deepening an old shaft. Re-examination of drilling records also confirmed the presence of the quartz reef where Mr Palmer suggested that it would be located. |
