First group annual report for Western Areas Project EL 7872 Coomarie Dome, EL 8591 Browns Dome and EL 9777 Monitor for year ending 11 June 2003

Abstract

This report summarises the work completed by Anglogold within the licences prior to the first anniversary. Work included project compilation and reviews, several exploration targets were identified. Exploration to test those targets has been carried out including helicopter reconnaissance survey, rockchip and lag sampling, three diamond holes re-processed, aeromagnetic and landsat datasets interpretation. Maximum gold assay from the rockchip samples was 36 ppb and from the lag samples was 4 ppb. Maximum gold value from the re-processed diamond holes was 30 ppb. Elevated Au corresponds to elevated Pt and Pd. Field work proposed for the second year is anticipated to concentrate on EL 8591 and EL 9777. AngloGold will apply to surrender EL 7872.
