L 9978 is part of the the Wonarah phosphate project and does not contains any significant phosphate minieralisation. A joint venture between Rio Tinto and AKD Limited was formed to evaluate the econimic potential of the project. However, Rio Tinto withdrew from the joint venture in 2002 due to low grade mineralisation and low fertiliser prices. During 2003, AKD as a project manager, undertook a review of the Wonarah technical data and concluded that due to significant improvement in prices and infrastructure support the economic vialbility of the project.en_US
