Abstract: Within the 2012 dry season three field visits were undertaken to: identify access to previously identified manganese outcrops, map the manganese and any possible extensions, soil sample program and to collect a bulk sample for beneficiation test-work. The results of the field work have; identified good access route to the main outcropping manganese; confirmed the approximate extent of the main outcrops of manganese; confidently detected manganese in soils as well as possible buried extensions; obtained preliminary beneficiation results from an 800kg sample. Preliminary test-work has confirmed that the manganese can be beneficiated to ~9 x the original head grade (5.01 percent Mn). In the moderate to low grade sample used for beneficiation the best results produced 44.85 percent Mn. Dense Medium Separation Cyclone Test-work is proposed to improve the grade and recovery of the manganese.
