Abstract

The exploration program comprised of an early soil and lag sampling exercise to identify primary constituents in the lateritised dolerite soil horizon at different levels of sill emplacement. Areas reporting positive heavy mineral characteristics (dominance of ilmenite over accessory strongly magnetic minerals) were targeted for auger drill investigations in a 2001 orientation drilling campaign and 2002 follow-up grid-based drilling program.
