The Ammaroo Phosphate Project is located 240 km southeast of Tennant Creek. The project area contains the billion tonne Ammaroo Phosphate deposit, which is currently Australia's largest undeveloped JORC phosphate resource, the satellite Ammaroo South resource, the Rockhole Prospect and significant greenfields potential in the east. The overall Ammaroo Phosphate Project prefeasibility has been announced and higher tenure applied for. Forty-eight blocks are being relinquished from EL 28403 in the central eastern project area, reducing it to 77 blocks. No on-ground work was possible over much of the area being relinquished because of restrictions around AAPA sites and poor ground access. Most of the relinquished area is mapped as Andagera Formation which is not considered prospective for phosphate. A single RC drillhole, AARC137 plots in the southeast of the relinquished area. It was drilled by Rum Jungle Resources in 2012 to a total depth of 21 m. No significant phosphate was detected using the handheld XRF on site. Three two-metre composites were taken from 3 m to 9 m and analysed by IC4M/IC4P. The P2O5 was barely above the detection limit. The relinquished area is not prospective for phosphate.en_US
