The Napperby Exploration Licence 24246 is located approximately 180 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs (Figure 1). Exploration Licence 24246 was granted over an area of 245 blocks on 11 October 2004 to Paladin Resources NL for a period of 6 years. The tenement was subsequently transferred to Deep Yellow Ltd (DYL) in 2005. Following renewal in 2010, DYL relinquished 76 blocks at the end of the 8th year of tenure whilst seeking renewal. A further relinquishment of 20 blocks was lodged at the end of the 9th year of term reducing the area to 149 blocks. At the end of the 11th year of term in October 2015, DYL lodged a further relinquishment in respect of 75 blocks to take effect from 11 October 2015. However, the Department of Mines and Energy advised the partial surrender was registered effective from 19 November 2015. This report documents the exploration carried out during the term of tenure on the seventy-five (75) relinquished blocks. Work completed on the blocks relinquished from EL 24246 included a review of historical and regional data, two airborne electromagnetic surveys and a gravity survey. The areas selected for surrender were chosen on the basis of the failure to identify, through analysis of regional and historical data in conjunction with AEM survey data, any palaeochannels or drainages that could potentially host calcrete or deeper roll-front style uranium mineralisation.en_US
