Geological maps are produced for 1:100 000 and 1:250 000 map sheets within the Territory. Explanatory notes, available for most mapsheets, describe the geology of the area. Corresponding GIS datasets in MapInfo format are available for all recent and many older maps. Systematic conversion of older maps to standard GIS datasets is ongoing. Territory wide geological and geophysical maps and equivalent GIS datasets at 1:2 500 000 scale are updated when new data is available. A few regional geological maps and GIS datasets at 1:500 000 or 1: 1 000 000 scale are also available.
