Title: Annual report EL 27750 20 September 2012 to 19 September 2013
Title Holder / Company: Merlin Diamonds
Report id: CR2013-0786
Tenure: EL27750
Year: 2013
Author: Kammermann, M
Abstract: No fieldwork was carried out during the current reporting period. Work focused on the processing of the 19 loam samples collected during Year 2. The historical and recent results possibly represent a disperse chromite anomaly that may be associated with the regional distribution of chromites and other kimberlitic indicator minerals, including diamonds. To test this possibility it is proposed to undertake costeaning using a backhoe to determine the origin of the surficial soils. Heavy mineral samples will be collected of the excavated material for processing and recovery of kimberlitic indicator minerals. This program will aim to determine if the chromites and indicator minerals are likely to be sourced from a distal source rather than a local source within the exploration licence.
