dc.description.abstractThis report details work completed on MLCs and MCCs of the Tennant Creek West Group that are subject to the Central Joint Venture 2 Agreement. Since 1995, Normandy has explored the tenements for ironstone hosted Au/Cu/Bi mineralisation within the Proterozoic Warramunga Formation. The tenements were covered by a regional detailed aeromagnetic survey in October 1998. Drilling for the reporting period concentrated on the 'Chardonnay' prospect (MLCs 176 and 177), where 18 RC holes and 2 NQ diamond holes were drilled. Best intersections were 15m at 9.7 g/t Au from 108m and 2.8m at 25.2g/t Au from 175.2m. Drilling at 'Chardonnay' has defined a mineralised chlorite-magnetite shear zone. The alteration zone is hosted by Warramunga Formation siltstones and sandstones.Shallow RC drilling was also completed at 'Ivanhoe' to test for a shallow oxide gold deposit on top of the existing mine workings. Gold assays were disappointing and rule out an economic oxide gold deposit over the existing mine workings.en_US
