Abstract: Exploration work undertaken during 1998 included geological mapping, stream sediment sampling, auger sampling, ground magnetics and RAB drilling. The most significant results were confirmation of prospective pelitic lithologies and further definition on the extent of alteration associated with the Fishtail uranium prospect located in 1997. Stream sediment sampling was unsuccessful to trace anomalous labile U and Pb, however anomalous gold values (6 to 16 ppb) are associated with dolerite in the NE of the licence. The auger soil sampling did not locate any anomalism whilst the drilling at Fishtail defined the extent of the dolerite and alteration, thus providing additional prospective ground. At the NIM 6 area, RAB drilling was completed over an airborne anomaly. Eleven RAB holes were also drilled at the Maningrida Road area. A ground magnetic survey at Fishtail successfully indicated the alteration zones.
