Work carried out in 2009 has consisted of a review of past exploration efforts. This was followed up with an airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over the Copper Flats tenements. Thomson Aviation completed an airborne geophysical survey in June 2009. The size of the survey was 23,480 line kms with the total cost of $162,005. The magnetic data certainly provided a clearer definition of a large number of (dyke-filled) fault structures than the previously available regional data. Comparing the locations of the known surface copper occurrences with those faults that can be observed in the data, it is clear that there is a close positional association between these faults and the known mineral occurrences. The radioactive response is generally low over the entire area. A K-U-Th ternary image has been produced which shows clear expression of various soil types, outcrop geology and drainage. A significant body of sulphides, that contains native copper, may be detectable using appropriate ground based electrical methods. However these techniques cannot be cost-effectively used over very large areas, and must be applied in a focussed manner on smaller, high priority, prospect scale areas.en_US
